Empowerment Thru using AI

I established my first practice in Western Massachusetts after
graduating from New York Chiropractic College in 1980.
Coming from a family that produced one of the first transistor
radios, I was already intrigued by the possibilities of electronics and
technology. That same year, the Apple II computer was released,
and I knew immediately it could be more than just a novelty—it
could be a tool to help organize my ideas, manage my new practice,
and maybe even streamline patient care.
But in those early days, software for chiropractors was almost
nonexistent. So, driven by necessity, I taught myself to program.
First in CPM,BASIC, then later in dBASE. By 1985, I had
developed ChiroBase—a software system for managing patient
notes and office finances. It evolved alongside the digital world,
moving from DOS to Windows, and it remains in use in my practice
to this day.
Over the decades, I’ve witnessed each wave of technological
advancement—from the birth of the internet to the explosion of
digital media and now to the arrival of artificial intelligence. Once
again, I've taken up my responsibilities and begun the process of
learning anew. Only this time, I’m not just programming
computers—I’m teaching them to think with me.
I had become aware of AI sort of on the periphery since I have
always had an interest in programming, technology, and how
information is managed. It wasn't until I stumbled on Chatgpt when
i was working on a book I was writing called "Are you Stuck in Fight
or Flight?"
I had been working on this book for about 10 years, and what I had
to show for it was a Mind Map of all the ideas and subjects I wanted
to cover. For those of you that are not familiar with mind mapping,
it is a technique of connecting ideas in a non-linear way as a way of
brainstorming and creatively mapping out a goal, a book, or just
about anything that you can think of.
On a whim I decided to upload my mind map of the book into
ChatGpt not expecting anything remarkable to happen, and what
did happen blew my mind wide open. From the mind map, it
summarized what the book would essentially cover and even created
a table of contents to get me started. Granted, it did not write the
book for me but instead acted as a guide and an impetus to get the
book down and published.
I moved on from that starting point to uploading x-rays for
interpretation and creating graphics for brochures, and it even
helped me take song ideas and turn them into lyrics that could be
later used to produce high-quality music. While reading these
pages, I hope you can remain open-minded and participate in this
technological revolution, something I have not experienced since
the introduction of the personal computer.
